Hey all

Today I was staring yet again at my membership reminder notice and realized that as of yesterday, I've been here 7 years. Wow. That's longer than I've owned any car, or my house, even longer than my longest relationship (so far) ;-)

And I think that despite my fairly abysmal challenges/ribbons ratio, I've come a ways from when I rocked a Samsung 2.01 Digimax and thought getting the very first version of PS Elements (at scalvert's suggestion) was the greatest thing ever.

Now I have images up on Alamy, finished well in some really big challenges, and though I don't have the resources to try and set up shop as a full-time pro, no longer feel guilty about charging for my services.

And as some know I met my great boyfriend because I was looking for someone to shoot for challenges with, and since then he has become my best friend, private photography tutor and overall rock...and yep Magnumphotography is a helluva photog, has ribboned in Free Studies and can shoot a wedding on film. So a big shout-out to Ryan.

So here's to you, DPC and all its great members, and all you've done. Thank you. Whether you wrote me a critique, left a comment on an image whose impact helped me improve, or responded to a crazy-ass question I sent you in a PM...thank you.

That's the average length of summer in England, isn't it?

Too bad it had to be Nikon. I was thinking about getting you the $12,999 canon 200-400 f4, but when I remembered you had nikon, I returned it and thought about buying you a bookmark instead. But then I figured -- do those nikon users even know how to read??

So I just skipped everything and decided just to say:

happy anniversary!!

Congrats on the milestone anniversary! And you have come a long way from when you first started. There is alot of great captures and creative shots in your portfolio. Just a few that I really enjoyed (and that was really hard narrowing it down to seven):

Hope you stick around for seven more:-)
