It was such a cool show. Why is it that everyone always says that they hate the eighties? It seems to be that anyone that always wants to go back in time and listen to their old albums and watch their old favorite TV shows lol

Wait just one minute here... the final Friends thread is getting hammered by all kinds of non-watchers, but Punky Brewster is bringing folks together over here? It's a strange universe.
But to confess, I did watch the show way back when...
Punky actually guest starred on Friends... does anyone know who she played? (showing my geek colors I'm afraid)

Katie I think was the name of the charactor. Although not 100% sure. I am such a geek I just did a google search and found a punky quiz and that was one of the questions lol

Well its only inevitable that 'Punky Power' would bring people together lol It was just such a great little show lol

It was such a good show to watch when you were a kid. It is just so innocent really. Yeah they had episodes on drugs and things, but punky always made the right choices, despite the fact she was the local rebellious.

Hmm... first all-girl thread I've seen. I guess the guys were all watching "Cheers" or "Transformers." Whoops! Clint ruined it.

Well I actually did love transformers too lol And Astro boy and I think one other called Voltron, which I swear is what power rangers is copied off lol

Cheers was a little old for me (I was only a kid in the 80's) but I did go to the Cheers bar in Boston if that counts lol

Ok, I admit it I watched "Punky Brewster", also Voltron, Transformers, Smurfs, Dark Wing Duck, Bionic Six, Robotech, Go-bots, Mighty Orbots, Saved by the Bell, Regis and Kathy Lee, Ricky Lake, Maury, Peoples' Court, Monster Garage, MASH.

Edit: Beverly Hills 90210, but not Melrose Place.

Saved by the bell is my other obsession lol I love that show and yes I do have the DVD's lol

SBTB, Punky and Full House are the three shows that I really loved lol

Hey you like Ricky and Peoples Cour? I was on both of those shows. OK only in the audience of each, but I was still on them lol

I was supposed to have a speaking role on PC which would have totally rocked, but Harvey forgot to cut to us. Its still pretty cool for a young Aussie gal to appear on screens across America lol

Yep I remember it. There is supposed to be 2 hours of it on the DVD lol

You know, I have only ever heard of two of the shows that you mentioned lol (Real World & Stargate SG-1 on and I guess i have heard of Real Wold/Road Rules too)

Some of the shows that are considered new here in the U.S. are repackaged Japanese shows: MXC and Iron Chef. Others are made for the Discovery Channel, or the Cartoon Network.

Pretty much everything here is either a reality show, or repackaged, or remake.

Also "Airline", "Family Plots" are really good.

I can honestly tell ya that I have never watched Discovery lol You guys get way better TV than we do (probably because you have a million more channels to choose from). In saying that i never could find anything interesting on TV when I was last in NY lol

Also can't wait for the new season of NIP/Tuck.

When I grew up, my nickname was Punky. I used to look almost identical to her. Same hair, same length, same style in rainbows and funky colors, but not quite as many freckles. As we grew up, we started to look different... but I remember those days! I was proud to be her twin :) And, she never knew I existed... heehee!

I looked similar I guess too, except I had blue eyes. I had same here, freckles and same complecxion.

[/quote] I don't mind that show, although I only saw a couple of episodes. One of the stars of it, Jullian McMahon is an Aussie (his father was the Prime Minister). I wish he was still in Charmed. He was just so damn funny in that show, which I think it needed :)

Wow, I am NOT the only television geek on here! I LOVED Voltron and Robotech! I wish those shows were still on... I'd peek every now and then. Robotech had such a complex (and somewhat adult) plot line. Almost like a little soap opera. And I had all the Voltron action figures, especially since the machines were shaped like cats and there was a girl who wore pink and kicked ass...
