Two weeks would be more than enough for me. A week for signup and a week to get to know new teammates and make a logo and practice a little. A month just sounds like a long time to wait. I'm having a ton of fun!

to speed up the process, why not keep the teams and logos and just initiate new members, like a fraternity.

I'd say let's make them something like Popes.

The new teams can choose a historical team logo and name, or they can create a new one.

Do Captains stay put with team name/logo, or are they getting randomized too?

Up for discussion.

Right now it's looking very likely that it will be fully randomized, with the ability to select people you don't want to play with (some folks just don't get along, it's that simple!).

But tell me what you want, I'm listening.

I missed out on the last sign-up and would love to get in next time. How do you sign up?

+2 for full randomization. I always feel like I need to under perform on my current team to boost the confidence of Garry.

+3 for three months break and full randomization. I might have to take a season off to rejuvenate from all the talk of Detroit.

A little sap will help that.

Dear Santa,
I want a new pony, a new bicycle, a new macro lens, a new 400mm telezoom lens, studio lighting and models who will work for free and pose as I want them to (physically, and in my time constraints, without complaints).

Thank you,

Little Jimmy

I'll continue listening. Not that it'll do you a damned bit of good. ;)

I would like to review the win by 5 points minimum. I like the idea of winning by a very close margin not counting, but 5 points seems a bit wide. I may be influenced by our teams loss last week, where we won 3 matchups none of which were counted, and lost 2, both of which were counted.

Feel free to suggest alternatives. I am planning to implement two or three variants and post the results that would have been in the current League on each case. With that information publicly available we will implement a poll so that everyone can vote according to their preference.

Currently, I am almost done implementing Mike's suggestion.

Then I will probably do LydiaToo idea.

Take into account that after this change I won't be able to do significant changes until 2014. So this is your chance to speak your mind and get results.

Yipppeee! You are on the ball!

Can we have persons competing in the exact same challenge have no deviance at all about the percentages? I mean... all is the same if we've entered the same challenge, right?

Thanks for ALL of what you and your team are doing for us!

I'm having SO much fun!

which one are you implementing? this one?

find out the difference 1 percentage point makes in one challenge and compare that to the other:

n1 = number of entries in challenge 1
n2 = number of entries in challenge 2

abs(1/n1 - 1/n2) = percent variance.

Conceptually yes, with some minor corrections.

You are welcome. Between same challenge, maybe no deviance need to think a bit more into that.

All I do is mop up the sweat and make the occasional Thai Curry for the crew.. They are fantastic, as is everyone involved from the coder to the contestant, we should all pat ourselves on the back for breathing some small amount of life back into our favourite community.

actually this breathed quite a bit of life back, well done to the organizers.

my concern for immediately starting a new one would be if enthusiasm stalled as the novelty wears off. maybe wait a bit to get everyone pumped back up again.

Agree with the delay to build up enthusiasm and excitement again. It'll lose its effect if they're run back to back.

It was nice to have the teams picked early having a few weeks to get to know each other and bounce ideas back and forth was fantastic.

The delay was a bit too long. At most ... keep it to two weeks, or even one.

Don't worry, it will not be a 'roll over' type restart, there will be time, time for us to have a coffee and time for the RANDOMIZER to select all the new/Old contestants wishing to play. people will come, people will go teams will be random same as before, the time between challenges will depend on how everyone responds to the sign up period.
