I think I did the same for you. Quite exciting site - I have only been on there about 30 minutes and already have had so much action. There are some amazing photos - so so many!! |

yeah, the quality there is amazing.
the only think i don't like about 500px is the lack of ability to link directly to the image. i guess that helps keep out the garbage...

How do you mean you can't link directly to the image?

mine never quite got that high, but its still at 80. not a bad 2nd day drop... |

| Out of interest, Mike, have you sold any photos via the 500px site? I haven't really spent any time looking to see what the purpose of the site is apart from uploading photos and a few people instantly voting on them. I am sure a lot of the voters are simply voting to attempt to get me to look at their portfolios and I assume to then purchase their prints but I could be wrong. Still I guess the site provides a useful way to get additional feedback on photos. |

nope, none are for sale. they give away a high res version off your image if your sell a print, i'm not big on that.
i use it to find an follow people and get inspiration as well as show off work. |

I just started to look into 500px; I wasn't sure if I should keep my Zenfolio account or move over to 500px. After doing a perusal yesterday, and hearing the above about the high resolution giveaway, I'll renew again at Zenfolio for the time being. |

How much do I get from a print or download sale?
You will get $2 from every digital download, and 70% net proceeds from the sale of a canvas print. On average, photographer can expect a payout of $60 per print. The payout may vary depending on different factors ΓΆ€” printing and shipping costs, discount promotions, etc. Payout is calculated individually and is based on market factors.
Are my high-resolution photos safe?
The files you upload are stored securely and used only for the store. High-resolution versions of the photos are used for the canvas prints and are never given to the buyer in the size you uploaded. Users who purchase a Digital copy of your photo get a scaled down 1920x1080px version. Users who purchase a canvas print also get a copy of the 1920x1080px photo.

| i don't really have any wallpaper worthy images, so i prefer not to give away my work for $2. I guess some people could use it for making and selling wallpapers. |

I'm not looking to be pushed to the front page, or even for votes, but I am shocked to have put this picture up at about 1pm today to only get 2 views.
In the past, I got lots of views with photos right away. Maybe it's this photo, but I'm curious about other's RECENT experience.

Maybe I hit a bad time...I deleted it and will retry. Don't know if they frown on that but with 7 views (including no doubt 3-4 from here) it's worth a try. |

wow... it's either the time or the photo.
This one had a huge amount immediately and over 100 views in an hour.
