So I spent the last two saturdays shooting Team and Individual photos for a local Youth Basketball group. 39 teams and 350 kids. I always take multiples of the team photo and check carefully for eyes and so forth. We took 5 team images of this particular team and on every one of them the same girl blinked. So today while processing the images I had to do something I've never done before.

I had to take this image plus this shot to get to the final image of and while it wasn't overly hard, I was glad we had similar head tilt to each of the images.

But really 5 shots and she blinked in all of them? Holy crap girl! LOL So what do you think? Believable?

Matt

Well, I think it looks perfect. WTG! What a challenge.

Looks natural. One thing I've done in the past when shooting large groups is to ask everyone to close their eyes and then open them on cue. That has always worked for me as long as I take the shot between 1-2 seconds after instructing them to open their eyes. Then again I've only shot adult-only groups. I'd imagine children may be more problematic...

Looks good, maybe open them up a little on the team one she does look like she's squinting a little but much better than eyes closed,

Was it the flash causing her to blink?

I shot a charity ball for a roller girl team,(for free and was driving so don't even a drinking it) I noticed on a few of the table shots one guy was giving me the middle finger on every photo he was on but subtlety against his face while leaning etc, I cloned it out and gave him 6 fingers on all the photos I published, teach him for being an idiot. :)

I like the idea of firing off 5 per set shot, we're you using tripod, and a couple ofspeedlights?

Thanks for the responses. When I had it up on the screen I asked my parents who were here and my wife and none could pick her out, so I assumed it was good enough.

Giles I had 4 AB800's two gridded in softboxes on low power behind the group for the background, and then two up high bounced in umbrellas to light the group.

we were running Individuals and then team straight through from the same setup, so it was optimized to give me the best I could get while shooting both and making no changes to light position, power, or camera settings. Shot all images using a tripod with a RRS L bracket to change orientation.

The end result looks good here.

I've been surprised a few times with artifacts that show up in printing that didn't show up in editing. I'm sure you've taken a close look.
