Bravo! How exciting for you and the image is great.

Well done Johanna! It does seem very much in synch with his wry sense of humor.

I know it is totally anal, but did you try to skew the floor to bring it square? The rest of the frame is so clean, allowing the delicate interplay of pet and owner to go on in a structured geometry of the door frame, and that slightly slanting floor is the only element that breaks the stillness of the structure. I know it is petty, but it bugs me.

Okay, if we're being really picky then....did anyone else notice the similarity between the backside of the dog, and an ewok?

Loved the story, love the photo! Congrats Johanna...how could he NOT love it?

Brennan, yes the skew was driving me crazy and I fixed it. Or I think I have. I need to make sure he gets the non-skewed version, as he's printing it on canvas :-)

So did you bring down the right and crop, or raise the left and smartfill? I love the reflections on the polished wood, and would be sad to lose them.

Don't recall, actually. But no filling. The reflections are still there.

Super secrets time - is there cat food on the glass? :-)

Congratulations!

Well, sort of. Didi was being bribed by Kitty Kaviar - aka Kitty CRACK!

Did you shoot it the other way as well, so from the other side of him as we look on it and you could see the cat and dog through the doors do to speak

No, I didn't, Giles. There was a 30 foot drop on the other side of Norman, and my levitation isn't up to snuff.

Yes, I'm quite pleased I got him in a position to show them off. Norman's only comment about the dog, when we were discussing doing the shoot, was to say how the ears would be great in a picture.

As a matter of coincidence, I watched Divorce American Style (written and produced by NL) just last week. So he and his work have been on my mind.

Great picture, Johanna. Love the narrative too. Congrats!
