Snap a shot of a Christmas Elf alone or in the company of other elves or Saint Nick.
Title: Deep in the Heart of December (Expert Editing)
Whether you participate enthusiastically in any of the many wonderful traditional holiday celebrations, or not, find a way to express yourself with your camera & some creative post-processing.

YYYYEEESSSSS!!!
But how about expand it so it's more inclusive for better participation. Like... "Holiday Lore" where you could do any manner of elf, Santa, reindeer, and of course not just Christmas lore, perhaps some Diwali related shots would be visually pleasing. :) |

Aaaarrrrggghhhh boy it bugs me that we're never allowed to utter the word "Christmas" anymore.
What if I have an issue with chemistry or Elvis Presley or textures? The answer is: that is MY problem, and not everyone else's. If I don't like those themes, I don't participate, but why should I cause everyone else to miss out because of MY issue with them?
For heaven's sakes, please allow that little bit of freedom to those who DO want to celebrate Christmas.
P.S. I do, however, love the other title..... "Deep in the heart of December" ..... that is cute :-) |

Did you even read what I wrote? You just went off on your own little rant. I never said I had a problem with Christmas, in fact all of my examples WERE Christmas related.
Seems you saw:
Christmas+Other Holidays = No Christmas
Something is wrong with that equation. No freedom is taken, only expanded. |

True. It seems that Christmas is now something to be celebrated privately at home, alone, at least for me. Everyone I know "hates Christmas," which I keep forgetting. I get it, I just keep forgetting it. I'm a little bit sorry I started this thread, but oh well. There's Zip to Zero chance of me seeing it posted, anyway. |

You're all joking right? You go into any city and see Christmas EVERYWHERE. This is just silly. Being inclusive to other celebrations does NOT mean Christmas celebrators have been relegated to the shadows. Far from it. As Jon Stewart aptly put it, it's even "eating other holidays" (Black Friday moving back and taking over Thanksgiving too.)
This wasn't even meant as a Christmas thing. I just thought elves would dissuade a lot of people from participating if they don't have a model, and since participation has been down, I thought it better to expand the idea. That's it. There was no political statement there at all.
Overreaction. Thanks Fox News for freaking everyone out about the non-existent "war on Christmas". |

No really. I really like this idea. Did it have to get killed before it started over nothing? |
