Major flashbacks here! Pink Floyd live - they still sound pretty good. :-) My son is like "Dad, you know these songs - how old ARE you?!

Where did you see them, and what was the line up?

Just today I was trying to find 'Echoes' on grooveshark.

"see them" ? I wish. No, I just know their music from albums (those old things that spin) and CD's. :)

My son Isaac's favorites are Simon & Garfunkel, Phil Ochs, Grateful Dead ... Al Yankovich ... ;-)

Actually, he likes (and we try to play) a lot of stuff from the '60s-80's ... working on some stuff from the '40s-50s ... :-)

Maybe they originally styled themselves after The Turtles?

having seen the recent "wall" tour i can say that was literally NOTHING compared to the wall production. sounded good, still rocked, but the production of the wall was an absolutely mind blowing experience. roger waters is a rock star.

I saw Floyd at the Meadowlands in N.J. around 1990.

Way back in the day I was at 6 flags in N.J. and a new local band was playing the amusement park. They called themselves Bon Jovi.
Anyone remember "Runaway" their first hit.
At that time not many people knew about Bon Jovi (me included)I would say there were about 30 people watching them play. You could probably have sat on the stage if you wanted.

That's where I saw them as well in 1987. I was pregnant with my daughter at the time. Then in 1994 at Veterans Stadium I went to two of the shows. I had tickets to the 1980 The Wall Tour in NYC, but at the last minute my grandparents wouldn't let me go. I was still in high school then.

We have an original 45 of Runaway hanging on our dining room wall. It was a gift for my girlfriend that I got her a few years ago. She is a HUGE fan...I've seen them play live 4 times already (last time at Asbury Park, NJ)..and even though they are very good in concert....I wouldn't say I'm a big fan.. :-).

I saw Pink Floyd outdoors in the summer of 1973 in Rosevelt Stadium, NJ. They played Dark Side of the Moon straight through. Almost 40 years ago, but I will never forget it.

I remember waking up for high school one morning to Pink Floyd's "We don't need no education"

My daughter suggested that there were more "old white guys" on stage than at the GOP convention last summer...

Kids have such a way with words...

He should share that fashion tip with Roger Daltrey.

i didn't even know this was on. I'm trying to decide if that's a good thing or not. On one hand i miss great events like this apparently was, on the other being so detached from television allows me to get so much more done in a day.
