Take a look at this. I've got my opinion as to what's going on here, but I'd like to see what you folks think.

One street, lots of churches, in an industrial area.
I've seen this here in Miami as well, several churches in clusters in places where you'd NEVER expect a church.
I can't see much reason for this other than tax evasion, as the churches never seem busy, in fact they would appear to be closed entirely if it wasn't for the new touches like banners and paint.
Thoughts? What the heck is going on here? Am I just missing something? |

You need to visit them to see if they actually have services, or sacrifice virgins, or whatever it is that normally goes on inside churches. |

I've seen some areas where churches seem to just "pop up" in unlikely places. Definitely places I would never go to with my doors unlocked.
Tax evasion seems like a likely excuse. Sad really. |

Churches are usually tax-exempt anyway, so avoiding taxes is not that likely a reason -- greater space availability and lower property values (churches are built with donations) and increased parking/traffic mitigation are more probable reasons for locating in an "industrial" area rather than in a neighborhood. Churches often congregate (pun intended) within a fairly small area for protection, comeraderie, aesthetics, etc. |

Marketing. Location, location, location.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, âTruly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.â |

Heh... You misunderstood me.
More like, the church itself is a tax shelter for someone or some organization. Quite a clever place to funnel money if done right I suspect. |

Ilks run wild in the bible belt. If you're lucky, you can bag an eight-pointer during hunting season. ;-D

DK as an acronym, AFAIK. I didn't mean DK in any pejorative way. Certainly is the abbreviation for Donkey Kong and Denmark, but those don't fit the context. LOL!!!! |

Possibly ... though I think money is usually better-laundered through "legitimate" profit-making businesses ... |

Hmm. You think so? Dunno, seems like three or so churches could wash a fair bit of cash. |

Not sure what's going on there, but my "registered voting location" is a church ... a really sprawling church that appears to be prospering with members...
And... it's in the boonies.
Truly. It's on tiny country roads... I have never found my voting spot on the first try. And I've been voting there for years.
It appears to be the typical, small church on a backroad... tiny front... but... wow golly! The thing has grown to house the masses. Not really fancy... just HUGE!
Apparently, they're doing something right there... Why ELSE would anyone want to brave the backroads that are sometimes unnamed to find the place?

I'm trying to figure out if the first thought of tax evasion came because it was a religious organization or because they are black. Maybe it was both.
Their website has an email address. Why don't you ask them yourself what they are up to? From their website the first place looks like an african church operating on a shoestring budget.
