This butterfly kept flying around the goslings. The kept running away from it. It was pretty funny.

Some other shots from the day:

You have some great shots with good exposure but I think a little more DOF would help some of your pics.

I was just about to say this. In many of the pics it is hard to tell #1 that there is a rumpus, and #2 what the rumpus is all about...

Well...15 minutes later, the photos are still trying to come up. I just have 2 words to add from someone on SLOW dialup...

Incredible shots. What's the story behind the shots? Did you happen serenpidiously happen by the scene?

here you can view smaller res thumbnails. Since I hadn't upped them to DPC portfolio, I didn't think it was possible to use the thumbnails.

I was at a local state park and came upon them. I just sat with my bigma for a while taking some shots. After sitting a while, the butterfly came and kept flying right by the little goslings.

I went back today, but only found 4 babies, and they were all in the middle of the lake, so I couldn't get decent shots. There are LOTS of geese there this year, so I imagine there should be a lot more opportunity.

To create clickable thumbnails for pictures not on DPC you have to create the smaller image yourself and use it as the clickable link to your bigger photo.

Great bunch of shots. Oddly I like the one with the two little ones running away. If it could have been a little clearer it WOW everyone.
Keep up the good work. <:)

Absolutely adorable. The fourth one up from the bottom with the little guy in the grass is awesome. It looks like the posters the kids at our school buy from Scholastic or Weekly Reader. Great work!

It's funny you should say that... I guess I got a bit too close on this one. I like the shot though.

I agree that there are some that could use a bit more DOF. This was partially an oversight on my part. Some of them were shot f8 or f9, which I thought would have been enough, but at 500mm, it doesn't make much of a difference. I should have upped the iso to 200 or 400 and added another stop or two. I am still incredibly pleased with how they turned out.

I really wanted to fit one of these into the challenges, but I was pretty sure they weren't abstract or rusty
