Just got home, and have seen your lovely (private/public?) letter to me, Margaret. I truly do know you mean well, but I'm puzzled as to why this letter is addressed specifically to me, and what you would have me reply. PM me if you'd like to discuss anything specific (although I feel this particular topic has jumped the shark). In fact, you can PM me at any time about anything (within reason, LOL!!)

To all you other clowns, awwwwwww. Thanks. Love the poems.

I thought your opinion was the most balanced and hoped you can see where I am coming from, just a little bit. You also put gloves on when you reply and that cannot be said about some others... :p
PS I think I am still using the wrong letter :(

Knee surgery. (Marko is probably consciousness-deficient at the moment)

Not considering myself a photographer, I am happy have learned a ton of things on this site,
and someday I may implement some good technique.
But I particularly don't like the slamming of the social aspect of this site.
It is not a sterile learning contest website. To me it's an artist community.
Sure we are miles away, sometimes thousands of miles, but no matter.
I'd go to a community college or buy a book if I just wanted technique refreshers.
In this modern Internet world, social niche websites are what bring people and keep people,
Good photography is crucial, so is friendship, laughter, camaraderie, etc, etc.

Come here and, you will see...
How much we love to post and bicker
and then about our scores we dicker.

Why not come and show the love?
Why do we tend to chat and shove?
Do not post of angst and anger...
Do like the English with a banger!

I'm not a poet and don't care
But among friends, I lay bare
my soul and score for you to see
and then among you, I decree...

Stop this madness, stop it DO!
For we ALL are most like YOU!
DPC is as it's been.
It is not now Landon's whim.

DPC has always been
A place for women and for men
to hone their skills and play the game
for the ribbon, voters to name.

You don't like it here, you say?
Stay again another day.
Times will change... they always do...
...Then a ribbon will come to YOU!

~Lydia

I DEMAND some love for this. I took two point seven minutes to compose this... dadgumit!

Greetings from the Critique Club! Here is the critique you requested: Just a few minor nitpicks...
First verse: "Life here at DPC" could be considered an oxymoron and we really don't "dicker" about our scores. Mostly we just bitch.
Verse Two: shoving, angst, anger - you talk about these as if they are a bad thing. And your last line should be marked NSFW.
Third Verse, Line 2: TMI
V4: "Stop it, DO" really? And it's Langdon with a G, as in "G, why is there a mob outside my door?"
V5: You've conspicuously left out the entire LGBT community, I think.
V6: I never said that.

Overall though, very refreshing. Like standing in a cool mountain spring with hot, molten magma flowing through it. I couldn't get enough.

I thought I'd try some Post Processing on it, but ran out of time and steam :-)

Existence here at DPC
is problematic, as you'll see:
we bitch about our scores, and bicker
about which road to hell is quicker,

spend all our days in push-and-shove,
and somehow fail to share the love
we mostly all have for each other
(Sister/sister! Brother/brother!)
