Has anybody used or bought the SIGMA 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Zoom Macro Super II yet?

I've found it for $179, but wondered what others think. If you've used it or have sample shots, I'd be interested in hearing from you.

i used it before i got a 70-200L, and found it was ok for the most part. the one thing that really got to me was the slow focusing time. but now that i have the L i also really like the constant aperture throughout the zoom range. at the time i didn't realize how i was being limited by the 5.6 at the top end of the zoom. also the macro feature is nice, but not really true macro. for the occasional macro its alright, but not for serious macro fans. not sure if it's much different or not for nikon's, but i'd guess it's pretty similar.

$179 is a pretty decent price.

I like mine alot. I use it quite often. It's not really comparable to L glass, but hey! it's not in the same price bracket either. For the money, it's probably the best 70-300 you can get. Good range.

i agree, for the money you're not going to find anything much better.

Thanks Nick & Mario. Looks like I'll probably go ahead and get it. It does appear to be a great deal for the price.

If anybody else has any comments, please post them.
