Two totally different things. But it seems a lot of people don't know that.

we need 3 threads on this?
04/28/2004 04:21:27 PM · #3
We need more then that.

btw...this isn't any fun anymore when everyone complains about what meets the challenge and what doesn't all the time. :-(

Need a challenge where meeting or not is obvious...such as
cat
flower
12 ounce mcdonalds cup in sunshine
human hand
sunset (er or sunrise...wouldn't want to start a squabble)

It says in the challenge details "or lack thereof" so even if you don't see any proportion in the photo, if it's perspective or whatever, then it still fits the challenge.

So by logical deduction, ANY picture meets the challenge?

Yeah, I thought of that as well.

At least we won't get any comments on a photo not meeting the challenge...

If anybody were to leave a comment, that is. 83 votes received, zero comments! That has to be a new low!

I have 88 votes, and 2 comments, both VERY positive. My score, however, is only 4.6xx

I only had 35 votes at the same time as you had 88, Boomer, work that out!

i wasn't complaining but stating an obvious fact. what's the point of having a challenge subject if it is not followed? i agree, though, it would be nice to have a couple challenges where there were no restrictions, but i think the subjects are fun and present what the whole thing is about...a challenge. taking a good picture is a big enough challenge, from what i experience with mine, so regardless of whether the photo meets the challenge or not, if its good, i give it a good vote.

pretty pictures are all we die with if we are lucky. you can quote that if you like...jk

This goes against the spirit of the challenge voting:

"While voting, users are asked to keep in highest consideration the topic of the challenge and base their rating accordingly."

granted, this weeks challenge is bit odd, in that one should compose a photo that either has or does not have proportion, which pretty much makes it an open challenge. Technically ALL photos will either have or not have proportions in them.

There's such thing.

That's it! Just add that key little phrase in every challenge description.

Abstracts: Abstracts are about lines, shapes and colors, or lack thereof. If it is recognizable as an object - it is not an abstract.

Rusted: Rusty objects, or lack thereof, can lead to engaging photographs. Your challenge is to find something rusted, or lacking thereof, and then look for ways to compose an interesting picture around it.

Where You Live: Show us your village, town or city, or lack thereof, from a new perspective, or lack thereof. Put the guide books to shame, and be creative!
