Best of Photojournalism winner 2004
all shot using an Olympus C5050. Not exactly an expensive SLR!

Yes, but these are photojournalism shots, they are mostly about the subject and the moment, I bet he could have used a disposable camera and still have the quality he has. Too bad none of his shots would do well here. |

I think James Nachtwey's portfolio blows Alex Majoli's out of the water, personally.
But of course, I wasn't the judge so...
:o)

Nachtwey, i think, suffers fro the fact that Simon Norfolk's Afghanistan portfolio won the Citibank prize only a couple of years ago: whilst Simon's stuff is more landscape-oriented, it has quite a similar feel to Nachtwey's photos here.
