I know its a concept similar to some other challenges, for instance, "around the corner" but this would
be a compositional challenge, to create a shot where the main subject or point of interest is not in the frame, but just outside-
or right/directly outside the viewable area. Advanced editing.

In other words: Image without Subject

im trying to understand this.

so are we to show a "small" part of the subject to do we need to compose the image to allude to one?

Not 'image without a subject,' but the subject should allude to a something that isn't in the frame. That would be fun to do & fun to vote on.

An empty food bowl on the floor alludes to the dog that just ate all the kibble. A cat sitting outside an empty aquarium alludes to the goldfish that isn't there any more. The more I use the word 'allude' the more meaningless it gets!

i like it: it gives lots of room from creativity but keeps the necessity of good photography as well.

Interesting idea that will take a lot of thought.

Thats a good explanation, but in fairness to h2, I first thought of an image without subject, but lots of landscapes and abstracts would prevail.

(It seems that when people are testifying in depositions with photos, they are always saying, "you can't see it- but its right out of the frame to the left" - so why not take a picture where you intentionally leave out something? Name it what you left out, or have people guess at it.
