Where do you get the bean bags for i.e. photography from the car? I have been reading a lot about them but never seen any.

take a small pillowcase shaped cloth, add dried beans (or corn, sunflower seeds, rice, etc) from the grocer, sew closed or use velcro.

I actually read an article about those the other day, and one guy said he made his own out of (get this) a sock and uncooked white rice. He filled the sock with rice, tied the top closed, and voila! I guess you can make anything work when you need to...necessity is the mother of invention. If I can find it again, I will post the link to the article I found.

Not only was I going to suggest the rice-in-sock for a cheap camera support, if you toss it in the microwave for twenty seconds or so when you get home, it makes an excellent hot compress to soothe those muscles aching from holding the camera for far too long
