I have upgraded to entry level SLR, Canon EOS 1100D.
Any suggestions?

you could try this lens,

and, switch to retro/vintage shaving equipment,

You could edit your profile/ preferences to include your new DSLR.
Then take pictures.
You will notice that now you have about 600 new camera settings-options which you can use to mess up any photo, that would otherwise be perfect with the point n' shoot cam in program mode.

Good luck with that. I've only managed it 4 times in 5 years and 424 challenges. Frequent 6's and regular high 5's are an achievable goal, however.

-Learn to see the light as much as you see the subject.

-Comment more on the entries you give 4's and 5's to. I mean critical comments, not just "nice shot". These are the hardest ones to evaluate since they are not bad, but not outstanding either. You can also learn the most from commenting on these.

This has nothing to do with the camera.. (ok, maybe a little..)..

Really the key to this one is just to keep entering, learning, improving and don't give up! Or, instead, perhaps you could just change your username to something like, oh, I don't know.. Gyaban.
