yesterday's update included the information that these 'babies' are now 2 feet long "Beak to tail".
That is one big nest. It's been a fascinating month to watch these kids develop. With more to come. |

Dinner time. Fish lying on the ground and babies feeding themselves. Can't believe how quickly they've reached that stage. |

I read that they're due to fledge sometime in June. |

I don't watch in 3 days, and they triple in size! Holy fuzzballs! |

Is nothing sacred.
I just read that the 'social stream' where folks post comments, has been closed (will reopen 4/27)
because of 'inappropriate' language, threats against the birds, the tree and other stuff by
"trolls". that seems to be the universal word for those who would disrupt civilized discourse
on the Internet.
Is nothing sacred?
In other news, those not-so-little, strangely enchanting eaglets are amazing to watch.
they seem to have grown wings from little stubs overnight.

I've been watching them every day. They sure are huge!
I don't know if anybody's been watching this one: //www.mnbound.com/live-eagle-cam/
Lots of trauma there. They lost one baby and without human intervention they would have lost the other one too.

Still watching these baby chicks?
At eight weeks they are rapidly outgrowing that big nest of theirs. The experts
say they'll be heading to the big branchs soon to try their next step(s). |

The first one branched this morning at 5:38 a.m. The other two will soon follow. |

Wonderful sight, ancientimages.
Here's a video of the event. The second 'baby' is taking notes and almost appears ready to try.
Tomorrow, maybe? #3 is still enjoying the fish.

How does that saying go? "You can't keep them down on the farm once they've seen Paris?"
The fearless first one is way out on a limb now. Not a parent in sight, either.
Here is a new link to watch the eaglets.
Our usual one seems to have been shut down because of 'attacks.' |

We need to "watch fast". They just announced the camera will be shut down June 30th this year :( |

I wonder why only one has branched. Last year they all branched the same day.

Second one branched while I was out. As far as I can tell the youngest is still in the nest.

First one has fledged. Number 3 still hasn't left the nest.

It's just amazing when the not-so-little ones sit out on that branch.
In one way, they imitate their parents beautifully.
On another, well, they look just like candles on a Christmas Tree. |
