Isn't that kind of up to him? |
Sorry, but Leo already answered my question before you could shut down the conversation. Good try, though. |
Didn't realize I was trying to shut down the conversation. Thanks for filling me in on my motives though. |

Changing the subject before someone kills someone!
Subject: post one or two photos which "you" think is an art... and maybe explain why you like them too much as arts. |

Modern art, imagination, perspective... talent.
all those photos are winners, taken in one week advance... and I give them huge credits not only taken the photos but actually planning for the scenes.
that's an art, pretty much as painting as difficult to achieve! |

Art is not setting something up and pointing a camera at it. Art requires the stripping away of cliche, which sometimes requires rather frightening explorations of the unknown. In other words, the artist is not entirely sure what he's taking a picture of.
The art photograph is a poem. Elements assemble and reassemble, surprising connections are made.
Sometimes art is familiar, but then it's showing you something that you've never been fully able to express before, never as well as it is expressed in that image.
Art is astonishing. The everyday suddenly becomes utterly alien.
Artists tend to be obsessive. They have a vision that drives them on like an addiction, but often it is never achieved, and their art is simply the search for that vision.
The artist celebrates life by plunging into the moment full force. All cliches must be stripped away.
Art is not stock photography. Art is shock photography.

Can I describe "Art"? I'm not sure, but surely these great images have to be included into that category.

Sometimes I look at a photo that does well on here and I think it's not really photography, it performance art.
Some might feel the same about digital art. |

Dear Julianne,
I apologize for the rather rude comments that I made in reply to your post. There is nothing wrong with the images that you posted, and Silverfoxx does have a lot of very nice stuff in her portfolio. I simply used your post to try and poke a hole in posthumous's massively overinflated ego. I shouldn't have dragged you into it and for that I'm sorry.
On the brighter side, his ego appears to be totally unaffected as he's now attempting to teach us all what true art is. Isn't that wonderful? I just can't figure out why he doesn't use his obviously superior knowledge to amass a bunch of ribbons and dazzle us with new and fantastically meaningful images. Hmmm... Oh well.
Regards,
Mick

Godamn posthumous and his huge ego and huge knowledge of art history telling me what is art. I hate those guys with their art theory and all that rubbish. Same with those history types and their books. Just huge egos the lot of them. If i want to call a bunch of wine glasses with red lights on them art then i will! I know what i like goddammitt!! And yea, if posthumous knows so much about art then why doesn't he do wine glasses and win some ribbons! |

wait a minute! there are tons of stuff to see here...
thread asks people to bring out "art" the way they know it. I showed mine, but that doesn't mean I don't see art as posthumous sees it either.
just dig in DPC gallery, or browse randomly through challenge archive to see what you like. and tell us why.
Some might say, wine glasses are not arts as a blurry bw photo! that's fine, it's not we should argue what art is here but show us some samples what do you think art is and why.
let me repeat once again, to those who don't want to read the whole thread.

Yeah, but it would end up being expert, hahn (and others) would announce their non-participation, gyaban would win and the blood and bruises would be fake. |

He's shown he can win a ribbon without using wine glasses ... more than either you or I have done ...
I think my own most "painterly" image is probably this one |
