you guys are awesome..... Let's keep it going... I would like to see if we can all top the world record of 748 different species. Granted we have people all over the world and the big year is N. America only but why should we care right?

What great fun! I'm champing at the bit. Will start counting on April 1. But, I'm just brimming over with birds. I love to photograph these guys.
Downy Woodpecker, male, Picoides pubescens.

Gobble, gobble. As seen on the east end of Horseshoe Park in RMNP this morning (03/29/12), this male Wild Turkey, Meleagris gallopavo, was in company of a dozen hens. Must be mating season. There will be more turkeys. This guy was about average size when compared with birding references: L:46" WS:64" WT:259oz (16lbs.)

| I have one bird that I am hoping will wait out til the 1st. Normally he is gone by now but he is still hanging on my porch. |

| Hi - I've never participated in a side challenge but I'd like to try one and this sounds like the perfect opportunity. Birds are my favorites (I have shots of 17 different birds on my refrigerator). Please sign me up. |

I first read this as "I have 17 different birds in my refrigerator", and instantly jokingly thought, "...the hell is wrong with these people?!" I think I need to slow down when I read. |

LOL no I am just doing 100+ things at a time and I do miss things from time to time. I will look over the list again before it all starts to make sure I don't leave anyone out.
