If you are in the UK, I ordered 2 prints from Canvasking and I am very happy. Not the cheapest around but the quality is fantastic.

Just looked again and the site is Canvasking.co.uk

I'm a happy bunny.

Curious, as you have only just joined DPChallenge, and haven't particpated in any way other than these 2 posts - what is your connection to Canvasking, Dave? I am actually looking to get a canvas (UK), shame that there aren't any companies that offer the same initial offer as the US Canvas on Demand.

I have only ordered one canvas and it was from MPIX. I thought it came out very nicely.

Has anyone bought from canvaspop.com before? There are so many different websites and I\'m wondering if their quality are different in anyway. There is currently a $25 credit to their site if you sign up for an account at snapitto.me which is some photography contest website.

I have used WHCC for a lot of canvas and they are beautiful everytime.

I don't know anything about CanvasPop--but I just went to their website, and they are more expensive than CanvasOnDemand (COD). And given that COD does fantastic work, why bother. I've been very happy with CanvasOnDemand--their pro pricing is very good, and the quality and service is superb. They've been great in that when I've had any problem, they've just resent new ones no hassle.

That being said, I note that BlackRiverImaging has a 30% off on float mounts all of July. They are a good lab.

And of course, I use WHCC for quite a few prints (but not canvas). And they are fantastic, so I'm sure their Canvas is too.

I have no connection to the above company at all. Only that they are local to me. That was my first post here. I just thought I'd share my views. I just came back through a bookmark to have another look around and I find that comment. Can't believe how rude you are. Think I'll stick to photography forums with less attitude in future.

Really,?? This is attitude? I've got to know where you've been hanging out, as this seems rather polite to me.. Didn't see a tiny but of rudeness anywhere, just some people asking a few questions, the one I suspect that you minded is the question as to your potential affiliation with the site, which, in my opinion is a perfectly valid question, especially considering the poster seems to need exactly the service you recommended, in effect, your post had her 90% convinced to give it a shot, and she was basically asking if you had ever gotten any prints from them, or if you're simply helping to promote the service and site..

Certainly nothing rude. But, honestly, and I do mean this, if you really that sensitive - you really don't want to hang out around here, we're a pretty critical lot, as we're all (mostly) :) striving to improve our photography and one of the components of that around here is open and honest critisisms, which get far more painful than being asked if you're working for a company that you've recommended... Then again, if you think you might be able to learn to take a bit of that sort of critisism, then I suspect that you, like many of us, would benefit from a bit of involvement around here..

shrug

Do as you please, stay or go, but I'm here to tell you, this really did count as polite in my mind...

:)

Cory, thank you. Darren (or Dave), my enquiry was absolutely genuine - I was researching buying a canvas, hadn't heard of CanvasKing, was interested by your post but genuinely wondered if you were customer or agent of the company. It wouldn't have mattered to me either way, i just like to know who my recommendations are coming from. As it is, i looked at the Canvasking website, and they are too expensive for me to try out as an unknown quantity.

Hello,

What a helpful thread! I was looking for a reputable place to get canvas prints and noticed that a lot of people recommended canvasondemand. Is this currently still the case or is there another place like canvaspop that would be a better choice?

Kindest regards!

Most of those offering suggestions are basing their suggestions on personal experience. I've never heard of Canvaspop.

I know no help for the English side, but for across the pond, here is my experiences.

Canvas on demand, = great, really loved them, until they went to FedEx Ground, then it took nearly 3 weeks to get my print, before then, it literally took a week and a half. They where $45 for a 16x20. I have 2 prints though that are pretty loose in the frames and not tight at all.,

Picture it on Canvas = AMAZING DEAL, a 24x30 was $49 ((($192)), For $45, you get an 18âx24âx1.5â,For $39, you get a 16âx20âx1.5â and they let you just use the money as is. So I got 1 24x30 and it was HUGE, so they let me split up the $49 offer into 3 other prints worth up to $192.

There is a glitch though, it can take up to a month and a half to get your print, BUT if you go into it with the mind set that it will take that long you will not be disappointed.

I did call them on my last order of 6 prints 3 days after I ordered them in a panic and asked them if they could ship them out by the 19th of this month, they called me on the phone, pulled my prints out of line and printed them right then and shipped them the next day, i got them 2 days later.

I am impressed with their customer service for my part and recommend them, the colours are really good and the canvas's are tight as drums.
Will get the camera out and shoot the wall so you can see in a bit how they all look.

for anyone interested, here's the link to paul's company

fyi, paul, most people here, regardless of the quality of work you do or the integrity of your company, will look at your post as spam from someone who just joined the community for promoting their own self interest, as opposed to actually "joining the community."

as a business person, i understand where you're coming from, but as a "community member", i also understand how the community feels. i know not all communities are as tight-knit as this one, but here's an idea for you. rather than just diving into a photography forum and throwing out your offer as a first post, maybe lurk a little bit and participate some. get a feel for the site's sense of community. if it looks like it could be a good fit, then research the membership to see find potential champions. establish an offline relationship with them. give them the opportunity to sample and review you what you have. and then let them introduce your business to the community.

that type of approach will definitely remove the stigma of being a "forum spammer". yes, it takes a little more time and effort, but in the long run it will definitely garner you better favor within just about any community. otherwise, you simply come across as an opportunist.

just my 02.

I did order a canvas print from MPix. Was disappointed as they left the edges on the sides unprinted which looks awful as you view it. Might be better to put a frame on it to hide it. I did think the quality of it could have been better, so you can see more of the canvas texture. Will try somewhere else next time.

Heatherd, quite a few people on DPC have recommended Canvas On Demand and I've had 2 canvases printed by them and have been happy with their work and service. They will even mirror the outside 1 1/2 inch or so of your image and wrap it around the edge of the stretcher bars if your image isn't quite big enough to wrap without losing part of it, or you can choose a colored edge if you prefer. I've also had 1 canvas printed through Costco but I liked the quality of the canvas and the finish of the ones from Canvas on Demand better.

Here is my referral code for a $45 Groupon from Canvas on Demand worth $127. If that doesn't link to the correct page, here's another one. There's only 24 hours left to buy this one. I just bought one of their Groupons myself to print up another canvas! :-)

FYI on Mpix. They have different processes for the canvas wrap and the canvas on matboard. I have ordered both. I really liked the canvas wrap and was so disappointed in the canvas on matboard that I called them. That's how I found out the two are processed differently.
I had a canvas wrap done by HamiltonColorLab. They are local (Nebraska) and I have used them on a couple of special projects. Their product costs more than some other places, but I have been more than satisfied with the quality of their service and work. I have also used ACI out of Des Moines and liked what I got.

I've actually been very impressed with the ones I've had done at Costco, of all places. Just got a new one that's now hanging in my living room.

I've done Canvas On Demand and have been very happy. They routinely have great sales, so it isn't so expensive, either. CJinCA mentioned the colored side- I've got a B&W I did with black edges and always get compliments on it- it too is in my living room.
This may be minor, but the hanging system is also super easy and nice.

CanvasOnDemand just started another sale (valid through 3/11). $20 off a $100 order (code IRISH20) or $40 off $160 (code IRISH40) or $60 off $200+ (code IRISH60). The Groupons are usually a better deal but this ain't bad.

Canvas on Demand has a 65% off sale through Philadelphia Groupon right now. I think there is a little over 4 days left. //www.groupon.com/deals/canvas-on-demand-philadelphia-22?c=button&sid=11124266&utm_source=newsletter&s=body&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=canvas-on-demand-philadelphia-22&utm_content=all-deals_philadelphia_channel_widget&division=philadelphia&date=20120311&p=3&addxe=a2VsbGkuc3RhdGVzQGdtYWlsLmNvbQ==&user=773153ceb1e193ea62665347842813b733cddce034963e654cfd30128493e6e0
