Seems a lot of comments got lost yesterday after the site went belly up...

Whoa nice one, I have the same amount of comments, 1 less fave than you, but score not like yours, but then again my photos always seem to attract a fair share of low votes.

I like to call those entries 'skimmers'. Except, my skimmers are usually about a point lower than that. I once had one up in that rarefied air. |

Very happy with the level of comments. At a loss with the number of below 5 votes I see rolling in ....
perhaps one explanation for some of those votes rest in Image appearance from monitor to monitor
If so, it is still a tad frustrating that one works so much on the processing and balance to run into the problem of monitor calibration being a culprit for x amount of voters not seeing it the way it was intended/presented to be seen.

+1. "It's too dark." "No it's too light." "Why is it so blue?" hehe. For cheap skates this is a good start: //www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ and gets you as close as your (non IPS) LCD monitor allows.

I entered and have done the 20% but I rely on a very unreliable connection and it takes hours to do few images. But I am still busy and will be up to the last minute. If I'm not done by then, well at least I've tried.

one day left and my image only has 223 votes. what may even be worse is it only has 398 views. im sure that number includes multiple views. that means that some people who entered are not only not voting, but not even LOOKING at the other entries.

I noticed that very same thing. Makes me wonder if giving the voters the extra week helped or actually hurt us. Those numbers are very low for what they should be, say in comparison to the monthly Free Study challenges.
There is a definite change in the site with this type of attitude. |
