Yeah it is!
I tried babelfish for some translation, as i do not speak 9or read) french. got this on the technique page:

"Off-centrings will allow, without changing point of view, to tally the subject in entirety by avoiding convergence towards the break point of the vertical lines upwards in low-angle shot and downwards in diving"

Hmm, translated with a French accent. Aren't computers amazing!

Perhaps I should use this as a comment for the challenge entires i don't understand. It would serve 'em right! LOL

Ahhh yes, a slit camera! I was in a store on Navy Pier in Chicago last summer, and saw a bunch of posters with panoramas of various city skylines, mostly taken at dusk or at night. They were striking. I looked up the photog on the web and found he uses a slit camera.
With a bit of perseverence, this effect can be approximated very well with any good digicam capable of low-noise night shots. Though stitching the panorama will take some time!
If anyone is willing to pay my ticket to Paris, I'd be glad to demonstrate, LOL.
