lol I sort of did the same thing. I bought jeans once and they didn't remove the tag and when I exited I heard a beep beep beep. I looked around and thought to myself, "that can't be for me I didn't buy any electronic stuff" (yeah I know dumb dumb), so I just kept going and no one stopped me. When I got home I found the device and was able to get it off ok. That weekend my sister was in town visiting so I hid it in her purse and waited for the fun to insue...but it never did happen. Not sure if it only works on certain stores or she found it and never told me. :( oh well, the best laid plans huh.
Glad everything turned out ok Art, your just lucky it wasn't one of those that starts beeping when you get too far away from the store than explodes your arm off. ;)

I also have met such a situation in a clothing store. But i know almost all the stores have such a device. I do not know where they get such a product. I talked about it with my friend who works in Chinazrh. But She said she has ever tried to get the answer from the manufacturers, but they refused to tell her anything. |

Here's the deal: I go to the mall today with my wife and kids. I buy a sports jacket from a big dept. store. I get home and find that there is a security device attached to it. And yet no alarm went off when I left the store - how odd. My wife says I need to go back and have them remove it with their special tool. I say to hell with that - I can get the thing off. I manage to pry it loose a bit and then it breaks and this red ink or paint and little shards of glass go everywhere. I am like WTF????? Why in holy hell would they put a device on the garment that will destroy it if removal is attempted?? I am racking my brain trying to think of the deterrent value or any value in this even if I stole the damn thing. I was am ticked off like I haven't been for awhile. The red paint ruined the jacket, stained my hands, ruined the shirt I was wearing and might have ruined the floor were it carpeted instead of laminate. Excuse me if I was ignorant of this method of "security" - I'm not an avid shopper. Still - the whole concept makes absolutely NO FREAKIN SENSE to me.
Tomorrow I am going to grab my pitchfork and torch and take the jacket back and incinerate the freakin store (figuratively speaking of course).
*deep breaths* |
LMFAO - Just saw this thread.

All I can do is sit here and picture Art in a chair at home with a beard down to his feet, muttering, "Any minute now. Any minute now." Staring at his front door. Meanwhile, in the Mediterranean... |

I wouldn't even bother stealing that jacket, let alone buying it. |
