Interested or not please complete the following WPL questionnaire about future side challenges. In the process it will help me make the best WPL based on what users want.

Thanks in advance.

And BTW, please leave a comment or suggestion (good or bad). I want everyone's honest opinion before considering running another WPL season.

I do not know who completes this form. I do not ask for your username or ID and Google forms do not log your IP. So be honest!

This is your chance to tell me what you like or dislike about the WPL, I have thick skin.

The only way I can run a fair / balanced side challenge is knowing what the users would like to see. Of course I will not be able to please everyone but I will do my best to make the side challenge as fair as possible.

Thanks for you time.

Scott

Thanks everyone for your answers and COMMENTS. They are very helpful. Keep them coming, I have read everyone and I'm very open to any suggestion. If I do run another round of the WPL your suggestions will play apart in how the WPL is formed, ran, and structured.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from more users.

Filled in, although it was a dual language exercise (Google problem, they can't leave things alone, too "customer friendly", looking very dumb though)

Done. Once again, thanks for taking the time and making the effort to improve WPL. When it seems that you have already gone above and beyond to run a quality league, you have taken it a step further to improve it even more.

What's a "Wild Card Spot", please?

THANKS everyone for your input, keep it coming.

I have read a lot of them but not all. Today was College Football day, and a wild one at that. Now that the games are over I will get back to reading all you comments and suggestions.

Thanks everyone.

I'm still sitting at this one question on the questionnaire ... I need to know, please, what a "Wild Card Spot" means pertaining to the WPL.

Currently ONLY divisional winners compete in the playoffs. Wild Card spots would allow additional teams with strong records into the playoffs and keep interest up longer. A couple teams were so dominant this year that nobody in their divisions had much incentive after they'd lost to them. Wild Cards help alleviate that problem.

A wild card is a term taken from American sports playoffs, where the teams with the next strongest record overall advance to the playoffs despite having a team in their division with a better record. It lets in a few teams that would have qualified by their record in another division not be knocked out because they happened to be seeded in the strongest division.

Thanks, Robert and Brennan!

So, the next two highest teams would also join in the Playoffs to make it even, Scott SDW? Or just one? [/quote]

This will depend on how many divisions there are and exactly what format is decided upon. It's one of the things thjat has to be worked out, if it's decided that wild cards are, in principle, a good thing for WPL.

I think wildcards, in principle, are an excellent idea. I think they should be in WPL, DPL, whatever happens. No matter how they choose to create the teams, I think there will still be obvious leaders. The wildcard throws in some nice kinks into the challenge.

I vote YES to wildcards! :)

I think Wild Cards are great, um ... Unless it reduces my chances, then uh.... Maybe we should uh put it on the schedule with the site update. Maybe we should just change it the way it is and leave it just as changed.... ;-)

Wild cards would make sense when the # of teams directly classified for the playoffs is not power of 2 - which is not the case in this WPL season.

Say, there are 6 divisions - taking 1 winner per division - we jave 6 teams + 2 wild cards: 8 teams in the playoffs.

In order to keep the interest higher, for this WPL with 4 divisions (and future ones) the first 2 in each division could go through the playoffs, instead of the divisional winner only.

An additional question has been added. Please revisit the questionnaire to answer the new question.

Thanks,
