Images taken at the Royal Gorge, if you do not like heights then you may not like going. Attractions include walking or driving over the bridge.

Riding the Tram across the Gorge and viewing the bridge while hanging in a metal basket from a thin wire

Taking the cable cars to the bottom of the Gorge

Taking in the view from viewing platforms

Swinging out over the edge to get a better view

The one thing that really freaked me out the first time walking the bridge is the wood decking, there are gaps between the wood so as you are walking you can see through the gaps which helps you get a real sense of height. The wood aslo gives a little when cars drive by.

Oh my! You're a brave soul! I love looking at pictures like this. Did you try getting any shots shooting down between the gaps? The one thing I have trouble with on really high places is this bizarre feeling of wanting to jump.

That's an amazing place. Can you imagine what the pioneers thought when they got to this with their wagons?
Nice pix. Thanks for sharing. It reminds me of a gorge on the Rio Grande, near Taos only on a much grander scale. I don't think I would be comfortable with riding the swing thing, but it would be a great way to get some interesting pics with the foreground blurred up to the edge of the canyon.

Hey, give me a holler next time you come down.... There are some other neat places around Fremont County as well. Besides, I'd like to meet some of you folks in person!
