Beware: Personal horn tootin' follows......
I entered the state fair again this year:
Flowers, color - failed to place (got 2nd at my county fair)
Insects, color - failed to place (didn't enter in the county fair)
Pets, color - Fourth place (got 1st at my county fair)
Landscape with structures, black and white - Third place (didn't enter it in the county fair and almost didn't enter it here. I was kind of "meh" about it)
Other subject, black and white - First place (also 1st at my county fair)
At the state fair, they used to award a color champion & reserve champion and same for black & white, then took the best of the two champions as the grand champion (which I won once). Now, there are 27 categories that they split in to five groups. One photo from each of those five groups wins a "Special Award". I won one of the "Special Awards", as well. And $36. |
