It's obvious I am doing something wrong, so apparently I need to figure it out. I dont think I will be submitting for a while. But atleast there is one less person to complain!

Is this some sort of complaint against people who complain?

Nope. I just realized it's pretty much pointless, as well as an ongoing subject. Truth be told, I'm sick of complaining. It's not getting me anywhere, especially with my photography. Only thing I can do is keep shooting, try new ideas, and hope things start turning out better.
NO MORE RANTS!

Does this mean you'll be out of reach? |

Glad ya didn't loose your sense of humor!
I think we're all a bit down right now.
I'm low as a snakes belly over my terrible scores.

I entered an out of focus Portrait Challenge picture. I’ve just entered my dumbest entry for the Odd, Out of place Challenge and my score is just part of the proof. You’ll just have to wait and see what I mean. And my motto is, ‘Never give up, Never surrender!’
Slowly, ever so slowly I hope I̢۪m getting better.
My advice is ‘Don’t go too far.’
Good luck.

I was wondering what that hissing sound was coming from above me... I thought it was just my score deflating further. |

The whole thing is to be happy with yourself. Good luck with your adventures. I liked your silence entry. |

I love my work, I think it definitely deserves better than 3's. From the looks of things, my first entry ever was my best lol. I didnt think it was possible to get worse!~

After looking at the pics you have in yout portflio, I think the 2 recent posts to articles in the tips & tricks folder should be a help to you. When you're shooting, think LIGHT & ANGLES. Also get to know the manual settings on your camera....how to change them, what they're good for. Hands on is the best way to remember. Pick setting , take a pic & see what happens. Change the settings, take another pic & see the difference.
Another part of the digital world is getting to know your post processing program. It makes a HUGE difference in what the shot looks like from off the camera to end result.
I've been been working in my graphics programs for several years & taking pics for even more than that & it just recently has been coming together to my expectations...with much more to go. Part of that reason is my enrollment in the home study course offered by the NY Institute of Photography )to understand the whole f-stop, aperature thingy ;)& the extra time & effort put forth to get out on photo shoot runs.
Never give up the dream. My personal motto is "Just do it!"
So get yer butt out there & DO IT! Over & over & OVER again! :o)

I get worse every week because I'm forcing myself to take pictures I would never do without the challenges. And learning a little bit even from the failures. Oh well, there's always next week. |
