Just checked in once more. It's obvious that time's getting close now. One eaglet is on the branch in raking twilight.
Still using the "feed me, feed me" voice but with less conviction than before. Will food be forthcoming? Tune in tomorrow.

| Yesterday there was a link to a You-tube video of one of the eaglets catching a fish in one of the hatchery pool runs...The eaglet was trying to walk with the fish stuck to one of its talons, so it was walking and shaking its foot a little (like it had stepped in something unpleasant). Finally stopped and started to feed when a sibling came up and expressed much interest in the fish. The hunter eaglet puffed up its feathers and tented its wings in an obviously protective posture and guarded its fish quite well. I don't know if it realized it could fly with the fish in tow (or on toe as the case may be...) Anyway, I don't see the link tonight, but it was an entertaining video and maybe it will be posted again. |

Meanwhile, I've been doing a quick 'flyby' once or twice a day.
Right now there are the three of them, looking fat and sassy,
on the branch, giving out a hopeful squeak now and then. Food, anyone?

I think this video is the one  ancientimages was referring to. According to uploader comments, the eaglet didn't actually catch the fish, but found it lying on the concrete. |

| I had to find it. It sounded too good to miss. They seem to be posting quite a lot of videos taken when they are away from the tree. |

Oh,that video's excellent. That fish was history in almost an instant once the eaglet figured out how to get down to business. Interesting, those wings are obviously not completely under control yet but they make good balancing 'arms' here.

Is anyone else still watching the eaglets? Well not so little eaglets, now.
For a moment, just now, there were two on the branch. Now? There's one.
and are they big!

I still keep a window open for them, but there isn't much of interest happening on that branch any more. Videos of their activities away from the tree would probably be much more interesting.
There are two on the branch right now. |

E2 was captured this morning and determined to be a female. She was banded and had a transmitter put on her.

Glad you saw that and posted it, Ginarothfels. That young lady is a big girl now. What a wingspread.
I can only think, with amazement, of how many fish and rabbits went into her development.

| There are two in the nest at the moment. One can clearly see the transmitter and aerial on the one's back. She doesn't seem bothered by it though. |

| The Facebook page says they are shutting down the camera late tomorrow (July 31st). I will miss these guys. The babies have been checking in on and off today. D1 is on the branch right now (with plenty to say as usual).... two of them were hanging out earlier this morning. The Facebook page includes a link to the satellite so you can see where D1 has been visiting. |

This has been a blast. Not only was it exciting and interesting to see the progress of this eagle family, but it was just as much fun to experience the comments and knowledge of the others in this thread.

| I'll be sad to see them go, though there's not really much to watch any more. When they're on the branch they don't do much and when they're more active we can't see it. I would have loved to see more videos of them away from the tree. |

| Right now they're showing horses and people with a farewell sign. I'm really going to miss them. |
