If this challenge goes, I am buying stock in companies that manufacture neutral density filters... cause everyone's gonna need one!

I was thinking along the same lines. Think a 100x is dark enough? Maybe a piece of welder's glass.

no, not enough. Ben is using 1000x, almost lens cap density :)

ETA: add my vote to the tally!

Brilliant idea! He has a certain style that is very recognisable and I think judging wouldn't be too hard.

ETA: A few in my fav's list -

i'd like to add my name to the list of "agree" with this idea for a challenge.

I'm away for the next month. I'd love it if this were tabled until August. I don't want to miss this one.

Yeah, this Challenge would blow away the "that's not sharp" folks, for sure.
Lovely photography in his portfolio,
But - there's always a but -
Why does his user name always remind me of caviar, or expensive fish fillets.
You know, like this guy (yeah, I know it's a tuna, so let's just call it a sturgeon)

I'm a cheap date, no need for cavier. BTW, don't forget "like a spurgeon, touched for the very first time".

"Actually, that's a Grouper, or a large sea bass of some sort." Bear said, pedantically... But I always have the same thought: Ben's a very large, prehistoric model of fish with cartilage instead of bones and smelly eggs...

Good grief - you mean the fish market that sold me that "yellow fin tuna" head for $12.50 did me wrong? Alas. They even gave me cooking instructions which I did not follow.

Meanwhile, back at bspurgeon (not sturgeon of fish fame). Yes, it would be a fine idea to do something in his style. but he gets to judge, not enter!

Geeze, you got took! That's a grouper. Here's a grouper in the aquarium, see the resemblance?

THIS, on the other hand, is a Yellowfin Tuna, and it doesn't even resemble a grouper:

Here's an aquarium stock photo of the tuna from a more similar angle:

See the difference in the mouths?

Now, back to our interrupted cartilaginous fish programming.

Here you go...actually an interesting episode. White sturgeon on the River Monsters.

YAY, we get to play like Ben this week. This will be fun, fun, fun. I may even charge my batteries and stick a card in the camera for this one.
