Onomatopoeia - The formation or use of words such as buzz or murmur that imitate the sounds associated with the objects or actions they refer to. ( from //www.yourdictionary.com )
This was mentioned by others recently in other threads. Just thought I'd toss it into the arena again.

This could be a really cool challenge - but would you think it would be extended to a visual equivalent ?
I could see lots of lame, boring voting that is 'this isn't a picture of a word'

Good idea, though I think there could be lots of similar photos - e.g things breaking, doors slamming, etc |

I guess that would be part of the challenge. Create an image that clearly illustrates a sound represented by a word, eg. buzz - chainsaw, bee, dentist drill. The trick would be to do it in as creative way as possible so it isn't boring.

Isn't that the "trick" for every challenge? =] |

The trick in this case would be to describe it such that people don't read the dictionary for what onomatopoeia is, and assume that nothing meets the challenge - we'd want the visual version rather than the literal version. (to those thinking , nobody is that stupid - well, welcome to your voting peers)

I guess that went without saying Eddy. Thanks for pointing it out. :)
