Since there don't seem to be any June side challenges organized, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in seeing what they can produce by using free pp programs. Things like Picasa, Picnik, Filter Forge freepack, Gimp, Virtual photographer, stuff that came with your camera etc. Still use what you normally use to upload.

This sounds like a good idea but IMHO I think it would be a bit of a hassle to download and try to learn a program just for the sake of a side challenge. Good thought though, not sure about other people. |

Actually, some people (including me) sometimes BUY programs because a side challenge inspires them to want to use it. I was thinking that a lot of people probably already have some of these programs and it would be an opportunity to play without having to purchase/already own more expensive software.

Don't leave out my favorite, IrfanView ... many more free software programs listed in this thread. |

I only have GIMP as I cant justify paying $100s on Photoshop when GIMP does the same for free!

I needed to quickly edit this picture to post in another thread, so I took the opportunity to play around with some of the options in IrfanView -- seemed to work pretty well, though I didn't bother trying to crop it ... other (simple) editing details on the photo.
