Do you think the subject has to ridiculously out of place? Because I have a photo I'm thinking of entering... but it's iffy. She certainly doesn't belong where she is, and it's a great photo, but I'm not sure if it will be enough "out of place" to do well. I'm thinking maybe it should just go in the free study... I'm torn.

I am close to skipping this one.
My alternate idea, it a pic of my cat or a flower, and the title would be "This pic is out of place in this challenge".

Humor, however, never scores well. Sarcasm i bet scroes lower yet.

Ooh, i just had an idea...

If she doesn't belong, she certainly is out of place.
I mean.. it sounds perfect for the challenge (which doesn't mean that voters will recognize it), but I would certainly give it a try.
It makes much more sense in "Out of Place" than in "Free Study" from what you said.

Same here...Mine is similar, but I'm afraid it's not drastic enough...

Well, I had a heck of a day.

Got an idea, wrote it down on paper then I made a painting of the "composision". Bought stuff for about 40$, and spent 2 hours setting it all up, and another 1 hour shooting.

I had a lot of fun, and hope it will do well. (it's my first submission that I have spent a lot of time doing).

Fun fun fun

If someone posts a picture of Bush in or even near the white house, they have my vote of a 10 for out of place. Nothing could be more out of place than that.

I'm in the same situation. After I showed a few people at work today and they made a comment that it was iffy, I'm thinking about pulling mine and putting it into the Free Study too. I like the picture too much to see it get low scores because someone doesn't think it fits the challenge well enough.

I've been torn as to whther to enter mine as well. My boyfirend doesn't think it is up to scratch but my work colleague loves it (and also drove the car to the location!!!). I have enetered it in the end - in for a penny, in for a pound!

Is there really any way to not fit this challenge? I mean if you shoot a cat at sunset with nothing out of the ordinary, then the image wouldn't belong in the Out of Place challenge... which would therefore make that shot out of place. Get it?

(I vote this comment a 2)

I think you're trying to be humorous, but the scenario represented in the photo should look out of place, not your overall entry in the challenge. =]

Trying... and failing. Obviously such a shot would get hammered in the voting.

Well I would normally give this a 10 but he is so obviously out of place there that I would have to remove a point for just photographing the obvious.
