Love the reference. Sadly, it will be lost on most of the 3rd most intelligent creatures on earth.
So long and Thanks for all the Fish.

Where's Orson Welles when you need him? :-(

Well, apparently he's been waiting on the other side since 1985.

I thought you get paid with...

...never mind :-\

Oh no.... I like cash... that other thing just creates bills.

Only if it's a boy! Bill would be an odd name for a girl.

I did. I've held seances every week in hopes you would get back in touch. YAY, they worked! :)

Whenever someone who professes to be a Christian predicts the end of the world, it always makes me wonder who they think they are:

(Matthew 24:36) âConcerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.

they have a huge billboard going over the Walt Whitman bridge into Philly, i had just assumed it was a radio special.

i guess the add missed its mark.

edit, after reading the links, the world isn't ending this weekend, it happens 5 months from now.

but i'm confused. if 3% over the pollution will be raptured and the rest will cease to be conscious, why wait until October to destroy the world?

I can't agree more. As a Christian, I cringe each time this type of message gets blasted all over.

That's why I go with the Mayan's date.

You know, this just makes me lose more faith in my church. Im a professing believer and I've come to believe that there is no reason to study all your life because you are probably wrong.

"The end will come sometime around 6 p.m. on May 21 â not 6 p.m. California time or New York time or Hong Kong time. The world will end at 6 p.m. only when it is 6 p.m. locally, Camping said, citing his calculations. âPeople will see this coming to them from around the world,â he said. âIt will follow the sun around.â

sooooooo, will it follow the international date line? you know with all of it's turns and stuff?

and if you are just to the east of the IDL, will you be able to look west and see it?

(@mgarsteck -- don't lose faith in your church (unless you are part of this guy's church). as far as i'm concerned, this guy and "church" are completely unrelated)

ok, so according to my calculations of his calculations, the world will start ending in Kamchatka first (Fiji gets an extra hour because they're not on daylight savings). This will be in about 9 hours... so 1AM my time.

That means by the time I get up in the morning, the Camping crowd will know the chicken is rubber. I wonder how they'll handle it.

I listened to a weather report on Family Radio. The guy told me what the weather would be on Sunday even though he thinks he'll be gone by then. Very courteous of him. He also doesn't seem to realize that a worldwide earthquake might affect weather patterns.

It's hard to see the truth sometimes. But I can't say I'm not pleased every time I hear someone really opening their eyes to the nature of religion...

FWIW, I think you can be an incredibly spiritual person without ANY belief in bronze age myths - so just because you're seeing something you don't like about what you've been doing doesn't mean that there isn't a much better (for you) alternative. Just look at your options and forget EVERYTHING you've ever been told by religious authorities..

There we agree. I tend to not trust anybody on a podium, or with a microphone, or in a costume. 80% of the religeon is NOT liberating...it's designed to turn people into numbers. Pretty sad, "church".

This just pisses me off, I finally have a free study entry that will ribbon without a doubt and I'll never know, damn it ;)

May 21st here and nothing has happened so far -- Does it mention if it is UTC? BST? GMT? PST?

It is 6pm local time, whatever the local time is - it is going to roll across the earth and hit us all on the top of the hour. You are suppose to be able to set your clock to it. I would recommend living it up these last 18 hrs...

I don't know if y'all made any progress for the May 21 challenge, but I took some telling pics in the subway. These adds in the subway cost a fortune! And there are everywhere!

WHOOO! Hey, who's up for a road trip to DocSneezy's house? You know that Flanders will totally get raptured... I'm thinking we need to tally up who's been faithful in the /rant threads, and then should the rapture occur we know where to find a bunch of really nice owner-free gear. I'm not really too sure how this is supposed to work for the Jews, but I'm thinking there might be a few camera stores that someone should try to position themselves in at about 5:55 tomorrow... :)
