I really don't give a damn if he was born here or not. Just get him out in two more years. I'm begging him...please drill or do something to get the price of gas down. It is killing me ! I sold some stuff and my wife paid some for a D700 and now I'm wondering if I should even own such a cam. I cringe when I pull up at the gas station !

I think he is putting Eric Holder on the case....he is likely to find NOTHING illegal going on with the WORLD price of oil !

Please do something.

To think that the hoi polloi of Republicans think that they know better than our countries combined intelligence and secret services is preposterous.

Releasing it at all, but especially now, is fueling their delusions, lending a bit of credibility to their "cause" and allowing Trump to be (if possible) more insufferably arrogant.

I hope you're wrong. Trump is Trump. He will find something to harp on, to be sure, but let's hope he gives up on this one.

I hope you're right! I meant that releasing it now was not a good thing, because it allowed Trump to claim arrogant empty victory. I think he did move on, immediately, to Obama's academic record..... The Daily Show noted that maybe he paints his name in big letters on everything because he loses them a lot.... :D [/quote]

So sad. (edited to remove confusion, if that's even possible).

Do you seriously believe he has any control over the price of oil? ROFLMAO!

No amount of drilling in the USA is going to affect the price of oil. Any oil produced here just goes to the highest bidder worldwide. The unregulated futures market is causing the high prices. Call your idiot republican representatives who are puppets of Wall St. and the oil companies to do something about it.

You know what cracks me up about all of the oil stuff, I read somewhere (I dont recall where) that the oil companies have made more money in the last 6 years then they have made total in all the time before. Yes, I can see why we need to raise the prices... I think we are trying to break another record of profits for them. I so want to go off grid :/ New house will have solar, wind and geothermal.. and if I can move to land that has my own waterfall.. ill really be set :)

Exxon Mobile announced Thursday a first-quarter profit of $10.6 billion -- a 69% increase from last year, and a number so astronomical, Exxon executives felt the need to issue defensive statements before the announcement.1 Also unveiling massive earnings were Shell ($6.3 billion, up 30%), ConocoPhillips ($3 billion, up 44%), and of course, BP (7.1 Billion, up 16%). In all, the five largest oil companies have reaped nearly $1 trillion in profits in the last 10 years.

EDIT: sorry...when the numbers are crunched it is 7 cents a gallon for Exxon and 40 to 60 cents for federal and state governments !
Here

I'm pretty sure that exxon mobil profited about 2 CENTS a gallon of gas sold. (If I find the news report, I'll post) The average TAX on gasoline in US states is 44 cents a gallon. Who is profiting more?

There was that article showing how one of Bush's companies (or one if his companies companies) now owns the oil in Iraq or something :) I really need to start keeping track of these articles so I can link them! :)

Go ahead and ask them where they stand on Wall Street reform and regulation, and where they stand on the huge subsidies to the oil companies. How can you blame Obama for something he has no control over? Maybe you should turn off the nonsense that masquerades for news at Fox.

What you read about is what the average gas station owner makes in profit on a gallon of gas. Not what the oil companies are making. The figures I copied are accurate. Exxon Mobile announced Thursday a first-quarter profit of $10.6 billion -- a 69% increase from last year. That's Billion with a B! In three months time. And got a tax break on top of it.

His birthplace doesn't change the fact that he's an awful president and so far proving to be as much of a war monger as the twit he replaced. I pray someday we can move past this ignorant two party system we have and elect some officials that actually have the country's best interest at heart.

Democrats, Republicans, what's the difference? All either of them want to do is steal your money, give it to others, and send your children to wars that line the pockets of despicable human beings.

If you can't tell, I'm a bit pessimistic when it comes to politics. I urge all Americans to not vote for a single incumbent. Send the power structure a message that we won't take this shit anymore.

Only way we will get away from it is if we drop Electoral College and truly go to Popular Vote (one person, one vote) Then you might even see an independent who doesn't just pick a side, but chooses his own beliefs, ahh to dream the impossible dream.

LOL..it is not what each station makes...10 billion profits divided by the total amount of Exxon gasoline pumped into your car = 7 cents.... and they get the same tax break as any other business...the get to depreciate each oil reserve as it is worth less and less each year as oil is removed. The same as when I purchased some computers for a small business I used to own.

and....profits will go UP as the price of a gallon of gas goes UP....

lol you may have a point, however, still costs lots of money to run, so I think we might be able to weed a few of them out.

Three wars, an economy in shambles, a withering middle class, tornadoes ripping apart the south....good thing the press is on this birth certificate thing, it is the burning issue of our time; and when can we get his transcript form Occidental College? Mr Trump knows what we care about.

Just a few random shots.

1) The president does have some control over the price of oil. A debased dollar equals more expensive oil (since it is denominated in US$). It's really the fed that controls that, and not the president directly, but you get what I mean. $100+ dollar oil and $1500 dollar gold? You can thank the twin guns of QE1 and QE2.

2) Capitalism does tell us that a company has the right to any profits it can make. We can't exclude some because we don't like it.

3) That being said, the idea that Big Oil needs subsidies is laughable. Cut those. Cut those NOW. I thought the Republicans were all about cutting spending. WTF?
