I literally stumbled across this site using "Stumbleupon" which has led me to some great sites. Liked the idea of being able to submit photos for voting and critique by my peers rather than only professionals. Hope to learn from looking at others photos and comments. Am semi-retired and work only 1 & 1/2 days per week, because I want to concentrate on Digital Photography more than I have been. Have had a digital camera since the very early days, starting of with a very low level HP point and shoot, which, thankfully was stolen! Photo quality was horrible. I then bought my first Canon - Powershot A40 (or S40 - not sure). Soon upgraded to my current EOS 350D and am currently saving up for a 7D (which incidentally costs only a little more than I paid for the 350D - goes to show how the prices have come down over the years).
I would like to know if there are any statistics availabe showing what countries are represented by members. Have had message contact with one Perth member and would like to know how many more members from this area.

I have been three times to Perth. Once by car, once by train and once by plane (I love the variety). The last one was the most sensible and even better - paid by the employer.
Have fun and don't take DPC too seriously! :)

Just checking if this thread accepts outsiders :-). I have Aussies in my family though, my aunt lived in Perth for a few years, now she is in Melbourne.

Welcome Christina from another Aussie from Melbourne.
Been over to Perth a couple of times, for work, and stayed in the Hillarys Harbour area. Magic place and some great subject matter for challenges if you are near there.
Enjoy your time here, there's heaps of great people and lots to learn from them.
