Welcome buffytographer! Glad you found this thread before falling for the scam thing.
This is a good site if you want to learn about digital photography, and processing. Hang around a while and enjoy the site if you wish. Google rocks huh?

Thankyou to the person who put this forum up, luckily I was suss about it and came across this forum. Needless to say I was very angry. This was my reply to Boulevard photography:
Dear Rip-off-c**ts (I replaced the astrics with the appropiate letters),
I do not give you permission to publish or use my photo in any way. If you do decide to follow through with printing my photo in your fake, glued together book, watchout. I have the authorities and lawyers on your case.

Welcome aboard DPC Peace_Angel. There's not a lot of false praise to be had here, but it is a helpful community with lots of useful resources. If you jump in and participate, it WILL help you improve your photography. So stick around, I hope to see your screen name coming up again.

Just out of curiosity I did a Google search for "Photography Laureates" and this thread was the fourth hit Google had for it. No wonder so many people seem to be finding us this way.

Still to this day 3 years later they still send me the shitty email trying to scam my ass even though Ive reported it as spam. It still makes my f**king mad

Spammers/scammers don't stop. Obviously, they are still scamming enough people to make a living, so why should they? Glad to know you are wise to it, however.
Stick around here, though. We won't scam you (Well, Slippy might try to sell you a bridge or something...) and there's a good group here.

| I was the same way, I submitted a photo and they said.. your photo ___ has been selected to be in our manuscript because of it's composition and lighting throughout. I was so happy and I was going to order the plaque and everything, then I decided to see if it was legit first. I submitted another photo and within a VERY short time, got the SAME exact email. Neither of the pictures were even close to up to par with the pictures I saw displayed on their site. Also they kept sending me emails saying to order the thing and that it was the last time I could order... yet they kept sending them. My mind instantly switched from "sweet" mode to "scam" mode. I'd say STAY away from this site! This has been going on for years and years... it's too bad nothing has been done to stop this site... |
