I owned the Canon HV20 (For fun, running around the place type video) and reserved my 1Dm4 for the more serious stuff. Having to capture all the time was getting to be a pain and since improvements have been made over the years to harddisk camcorders with SD card expansion slots, I decided to go on the hunt. I bought myself a Panasonic TM-750 (I believe it is the TM-900 equivalent in the U.S) What beautiful video but hard on the the computer when it comes time to rendering stuff.

Anyways, I just started using yesterday and not a day into it I've already decided what I 'Must have' in my kit...I'm looking at the Canon 16-35mm 2.8L...now if only money will start growing on these trees I have.

Anybody else saving for a new piece of gear?

I have gotten through so much gear it's not funny, you know, good times/Bad times.

I have now taken to repairing and restoring cameras and lenses and so I now buy junky older L glass and pull it apart and repair it.

I have done this with 3 of my current lenses and the other day I pulled the 85mm f1.2L apart for a clean... scary but now I have a nice clean brand new lens.

I am lucky enough to own (or have owned) most of the gear I have ever wanted but if greed could lend a hand then I would really LOVE to try the new Pentax 645D or even maybe a Blad CM500 with a decent digital back and some Zeiss glass.

I am very happy and give thanks for the gear I have but medium format digital is definitely a thing I will get into when I can afford it and when it becomes a lot better.

For video I have been totally impressed with the 60D, it has a very 'filmic' look to it and the ability to load L glass on the front is wonderful.

Gear Freak... yes, if the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, then I guess I can move to step 2, LOL.
I've been in a gear-purchase-free period, due to other, much higher priority projects, but I am lustily awaiting the announcement of the 5D mk III.
