With one of these.
(Anyway, RCMP are national police. Local or regional police do roadway enforcement.) |

Thanks.
With all the forests and snow and mountains, how is there any room left for houses? Do Canadians actually exist? |

Some do, but the government's working on it. They're also working on the forests. Nothing can be done about mountains yet, but US and China are working on getting rid of all the snow (not just in Canada). |

Um, maybe in some provinces or cities, but in much of Western Canada, the RCMP is the sole roadway enforcement. |

I understand that the RCMP is the regional force for sparsely populated areas (even in eastern Canada), but are you telling me that it's the RCMP, and not these guys, that do traffic stops in downtown Vancouver? |

Vancouver is one city. However, in the rest of B.C., Alberta (with the exception of Edmonton, I believe), Saskatchewan, and Manitoba... it's the RCMP. |

Um on the highways and in rural areas yes but the larger cities like Calgary and Edmonton and the like have their own police force...

I love this use of "rural areas". Calgary has a police force, but most of its highways are patrolled by the RCMP. In B.C., the only city with a local police force is Vancouver, and only for Greater Vancouver. Surrey, Langley, Burnaby, New Westminster and even North and West Vancouver get mostly patrolled by the RCMP. Cities like Kelowna, Prince George and Kamloops, which all have populations approaching (or over) 100,000 people are all patrolled by the RCMP. In Saskatchewan, Regina and Saskatoon are patrolled by the RCMP. Winnipeg is also mostly patrolled by the RCMP.
It's like some of you people think that it's the goddamn boonies if it's not a MAJOR metropolitan city. lol.
I mean heck, even in Vancouver and Calgary you see the RCMP stopping people for traffic tickets 2 or 3 times out of 10. In Calgary I see it almost 50% of the time even in the neighborhoods.

Pick five fights. Stick to 'em. Put them in your profile weekly, with links to the relevant forum posts. That way, those of too tired to bother can avoid those threads completely. Thanks. |

lol well Ive lived in Calgary for the past 40 years and have never seen an RCMP pull someone over in the city limits. Ive seen their cars once in a blue moon in town but its the city police here anyway that are the acting law enforcement.
