Even in New Zealand it is not moonrise yet.

Is that the idea:

I took it back home when I got my 2x Extender. I thought the image had bad noise but it turned out to be moon craters! WOW! I did not know that you can do with an ordinary camera.

Hey! I managed to get a shot of the moon between clouds tonight that's timestamp legal for the challenge. Now I have to find something to plunk it in... :)

I can see the moon now. That means I can shoot it too!

For weeks now, I have been crossing fingers for good weather.
We have this wonderful lookout here in Brisbane, Australia.
The moonrise would have been nearly right above the city (actually, it would have been right on the rule of thirds line). Perfect spot, perfect view, perfect everything.

The weather has been wonderful.

Until today.

It rained. All day. All evening.

NO moon, whatsoever.

(Just like a few weeks ago when the lunar eclipse happened).

Sigh.

Look on the good side... it's not like you had to follow the plow truck to get to the lookout or put chains on your tyres to manoeuvre your way up and down that hill.

Besides, you don't have to shovel rain. :O)

Isn't the full moon tonight... oh wait you already have had your tonight eh? (Runs for cover and hopes Beetle will have forgotten by the time he goes for a visit)

But, the full moon will be 99%+ through the balance of challenge. So, virtually full.
I had some clouds this morning, but the better opportunities are moonrise tonight and moonset on Sunday morning.

I'm in too, with my first entry that actually takes advantage of the expert editing ruleset. I'm not too confident on this, but it was fun.

Bright sky this evening and a wonderful moonrise, but I'll never get warm again. It was cold :(

At least we are getting some rain from the clouds. :-(

Cloudless and chilly night in NYC! Oh, you'll hate me for this. The moon does not seem to me bigger that at its regular grapefruit stage! Am not prepared to take the shots you'll expect or able to do. Sorry!

Well....perfect night for the Supermoon here in New Orleans. Moonrise at 7:30pm. Had my cam all ready to drive the short distance to the lake. Then my wife reminds me that my daughter's first movie date is picking her up at 7:30pm ! I'm not really worried about missing the moonrise....I'm worried about a first date starting out at the exact moment that the Supermoon rises.

I was about 15 miles from where I wanted to be.

I'm out too... unfortunately, the wife has a wicked migraine which is triggered by a previous condition, so I'm on baby duty tonight... Its all good though, I'm still looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with... Best of luck!

I want to enter but have no interesting angle or anything at all. The clouds broke up so its just a plain old moon : (

It was overcast at sundown, but hope springs eternal, so I had everything ready to go to a nearby high spot, just in case the clouds broke for a moment or two.

Then, the pitter patter of little raindrops started to sound on the roof, and I decided on a nice cup of hot chocolate instead.
