I want to be able to use my external flash for my D60 a little futher away from the camera. I looked at B&H for an "off camera adapter" but not sure Im looking for the correct thing.
I have a promaster 5750DX flash unit with the Canon module and it works great, but I want to move it so I can use it for my Macro shots.
Any idea on what parts I need

It is the most expensive bit of wire you'll ever buy (unless you happen to be in to high end audio)
The 'off camera shoe cord 2' is probably what you want. Gets you a few feet of extension, and can mount on a tripod.
I'd seriously consider some sort of wireless/ master/ slave type set-up instead of the $50 for the wire that gets you a couple of feet.

ok that would work, I could do a wireless/master/slave set up, but I dont want to spend a lot of money (ie... im a cheap SOB)
again this is new territory for me so I dont know much about flashes and such

I hear you - but the OCSC2 is real expensive for what it is.
Depending on what you are wanting to achieve it might be worth looking in to some reflectors/ diffusers/ bouncers for your on camera flash and trying to work with that as a starting point too.
I wouldn't rush to buy the OCSC2 is all I'm saying. |

Have to agree with Gordon there.
I have the cord for the 10D (no idea if it is the same cord). love what I can do with it ... but it was VERY over priced and I later realised there were cheaper ways to go.
If I was starting again I think I'd look into wireless. I sometimes find the cord, despite the silly price, is nowhere near long enough, it can even pull over the camera tripod if you are not very careful.

oh dont worry, Im not rushing out to buy anything yet. Im still in my research phase, and that can last for many months since this is a "nice to have" item and not a "I need it" item.
I will try some bouncing and more experimenting with home made light tents and things like that first.
