I'm considering this lens. Any thoughts? I don't want to buy any more dx lenses because I intend to move to the full frame sensor fairly soon (D700 or D3)

I'm sure it's awesome... but don't rule out the Sigma 15mm:

Beautiful photos but reviews say it doesn't work well on Full frames. although this was used with a d3. NOw I'm confused.

Well in all fairness Andrew could probably take an awesome photo with a Pringles tube as a lens.

ETA: I cannot believe I missed the opportunity to post this one taken with the Nikon 16mm you're talking about:

This is one of the first images I saw on DPC and it hasn't lost its awesomeness. It never will. One of my favorites.

Whenever I've had questions about more rare lenses I've found it easier to ask existing users what their opinions are via PM. A lot of people don't take an active part in the forums, so you miss a lot of folks.
