So my brother owns a marketing company and asked me to do the product shots for a catalog (Skates marketed mainly to roller derby competitors)
So I did the best product shots I could without a light tent (not easy) and Sofia did the photoshopping to cut them out of the background and all that.
So yeah, it's my brother but we got paid and we got credit in the catalog....so pretty cool.

Cool. Looks like skates are a much easier subject to make an interesting product shot with than copiers are. Certainly more colorful.

They are still gray or tan on the outside. I just need to photograph the insides if I want the cool shots.

How did you do the lighting?

well that is one thing i got going for me, I recently got this lighting kit. I had one light bare bulb behind the skates and pointed at a white shee for the b/g and the other w/softbox slightly camera left. The skates were on a table with a white sheet. I was trying to get the b/g as plain as possible to make it easier to edit. |
