I very recently did a test run of two shots... no luck. If I were to do it again I'd spend a bit more time reading successful write ups and adjust what I have to say about the photo. Promoting my efforts effectively is a skill I could learn to do better -- as well as put up more "buyable" stuff ;-)
Good luck with your sales. |

I've had fun selling and buying on Ebay. I have not attempted to do prints.
I think it would be a royal pain with a small profit margin. Ink, postage, mailing supplies. I like DPPrints just fine. They do all the work, do it well and I get the $. I'm not going to get rich, but that's not why I'm taking photos. |

I have sold prints on ebay, didn't make much, but got a lot of positive feedbacks. The most I got was about $30 for an 8X10, but sometimes I only got $3 for the same print. I can't say what the print was yet, because of the current magazine cover challenge I have the same subject. I hope to sell some prints with dpcprints. |

I tried once as a test, but with no interest. There's no profit margin -- I think they are either bargain hunters or fine art buyers, with no middle ground for the rest of us with stuff that's a bit in between. The only reason I thought it would be good was to list the link to DPC Prints in the item description, and so generate some advertising at least.
I might try again with a sampler set of several small prints (for people to use as cards or whatever); even at something like $6/6 it would be more profitable than one 8x10 for $6-8.00. |

I've been selling Ferret bedding sets on ebay, and have had great luck with that. Unfortunately, I dont think i have any photos that anyone but myself would be interested in buying. |

I sell a variety of tings on ebay that i get at auctions. A friend makes scale buildings for model railroad layouts and dones some custom train building and does quite well with that - but it is very specialized.
I know many folks that take pics of trains (and boats, trucks, unique or historic buildings) so there may be a market for prints in specific categories, probably matted and framed (perhaps let auction winner choose mat color or frame style).

If want to sell prints on Ebay. Can i put the print on sale, and if someone buy the print, I buy it myself on DPCPrint and put the buyers address as mailing address?
That way DPCPrints make money out of it and take care of printing and shipping?

I thought about trying to sell prints on Ebay. I didn't want to keep things small so I tried to think outside the box on the money making of ebay. I looked through the weird and unusual things on Ebay and had thought about how I could write up an interesting ad to sell something for a lot. I've thought about putting one of my photos on there and seeing if I could sell all the rights to one of my photos and start the bidding around $10,000. It would take the right wording and marketing on there but if it sold, that would be awesome. I should get with one of my marketing teachers at school to see how I should write the ad and then see if it would sell for fun. In-fact I'll talk with one tomorrow and just do it for fun. |
