Why does Canada suck so badly compared to the USA?

Hardly any decent hobby supplies are available in Canada, so I have to have them shipped from the USA. That bumps up shipping costs, sometimes brokerage fees and HST are added, a lot of extra shipping time is added, and Canada Post is slow as molasses in winter.

I'm really beginning to resent being stuck in this backwater country.

On a positive note, your Loonies are now on a par with the once-almighty Greenback, and look better too.

The cold is a major drawback, but there are some positive aspects to your location as well ...

What kind of hobby requires shipping supplies from a foreign country?

ΓΆ€ΒΆ Canada is too cold to be cool
ΓΆ€ΒΆ The USA bought coolness on credit.
ΓΆ€ΒΆ US has Bruno Mars, Canada has Paul Anka.
ΓΆ€ΒΆ DPC is based in the US.
ΓΆ€ΒΆ Nobody opens hobby stores where curling is considered recreation.
ΓΆ€ΒΆ Eh?
ΓΆ€ΒΆ Securing our borders apparently only means Mexico. Canada is forgettable.
ΓΆ€ΒΆ Your anthem bores even itself... "Oh. Canada."
ΓΆ€ΒΆ USA is a Slippy-free zone.

Remote control helicopters, for decent brands in my price/skill range, and the replacement parts for when I crash it. :-/

Bah, who cares about price when you can play with one of these?

The base model costs more than my car, but it looks REALLY COOL! When I get good enough, I'd like to get a big rc to do airborne video, which I could sell to pay for the hobby and holidays, similar to what photography has done for me. That Draganfly looks great, but is very pricey.

Hexacopter is also pretty cool.

You can't get that in Ontario? I can get it in Newfoundland! Their store is just up the road from me but they do online sales as well.

Terrible selection, quality, and price. :-( It's the case for many non-mainstream hobbies, I suppose.

You say that as if you think we honestly believe that his Slippyness would ever engage in anything "Mainstream".... Fat chance. :O)

Oh, trust me, I know what the political fake reasoning is. That just translates to "We're going to gouge you because we know you're ignorant mindless consumers MWUAHAHAHAHA".

GRRRRRR.

Well I am curious - if I don't believe in Canada, will I go to Mexico when I die?

Why? What horrible thing did you do to deserve Canada?

Lemme see...price speculation, the weekend, winter heating, crisis in a few of the bigger oil producing nations, taxes on taxes........take your pic.

My money says that the oil delivery truck will be at my door tomorrow for sure... unless of course the price of oil spikes upwards over the weekend ...then they will wait till later.

For some strange reason I never get oil deliveries when the price is in a downward trend.

More proof Canada sucks...

All the US has to do is ignore the fact that the Canadian dollar is stronger right now, and it's just accepted. I see the same thing at border area toll bridges where they'll accept $2.50CAN or $2.00US.

I actually had the nerve to visit a Canadian RC helicopter store in person, to find that the prices are double those in the US. Screw that, I'm giving my money to US businesses!
