In the last few months, almost half a dozen DPCers have PM'd me about being logged in multiple times. First, wow, I'm getting checked out. Thank you!!!

And secondly, I work from home but have two computers, both of which are ALWAYS logged into DPC. It's not an addiction. It's "convenience". Which is why I also have my 'droid (or Druid, as vawendy has been known to call it) logged into DPC. Seriously. NOT an addiction!! Someone mentioned I had four log-ins, but I can't figure out how that's possible. Unless I'm sleepwaking and logged in somewhere else. Then MAYBE it's an "addiction"...

I always suspected there was more than one of you...

I haven't checked, but it is possible that if you have multiple tabs open to DPC, you might have a log-in for each tab. Don't know if that's true or not; whether it's true may depend on the browser being used.

ETA: nope, no multiple log-ins when multiple tabs (or multiple windows) are open in FF 3.6.13, nor from IE 7.0.5730.13. Well, that shoots that theory, LOL

If you use NiallOTuama's challenge monitor app, you get logged in every 60 seconds for the entire duration that you keep the app running.

wow... 77 users online and 4 of them are you. Now I know how you are able to do so much commenting :)

maybe logged in on multiple browsers?

Possible explanations:

You're beside yourself.

You've broken Photoshop's cloning tool.

There's a DeLorean hidden in the bushes behind your house.

Langdon programmed a DVR into the site to play reruns of your logins.

You're You're seeing seeing things things..

You were charged four times for registration.

Rollover minutes.

You took the allowance for up to 10 exposures in Advanced way too seriously.

Wow, I see three of you now Johanna....you have got to tell us the secret to your cloning machine. If I had three of me I would double the amount of comments I could give out:-) (it's only double because I take a bloody long time writing up a good critique)

I want to know why sometimes when I first log in it says that I have been online for 22 minutes or something like that. How can that be when I just logged in!?

Is someone else logging in as me?

@ scalvert: LOL! LOL!

I confess: I wanted to out-comment the Uber-commenter of all time, Jutilda. It would have been an impossible goal to achieve had I not cloned myself.

PS - the monitoring program would account for the third/fourth log-in source.

PPS - I am NOT addicted to DPC.

Incorrect. It only logs you in once. If it gets disconnected (for whatever reason) it it smart enough to re-login. It simply maintains cookies in normal operation.

When I'm testing the program I'd be easily on 10 to 20 times.
Beat that, tanguera :)

I stand corrected then. I just happened to see your username logged every minute (which i now suppose is your retry interval) the other week and it spanned several hours, hence my false conclusion. sorry.

I don't call it a druid. That's what it calls itself! :P

A phone that calls itself when you're paying by the minute is evil, pure telecommunications evil.

oh no!! My phone is evil?

NONONO!! Just because it wants to call itself a druid...

Now I'm afraid of my phone! (and I thought a druid was such a peaceful thing...)

Relax, Wendy. It's only evil if it goes behind your back to hit the update button.

Well, for the ancient Celts the Druids were the priestly class. Ordinary people weren't "druids" any more than ordinary people can be, say, Catholic priests or Jewish Rabbis; you had to be trained. Not a lot is known about them, but it IS known (via first-hand Roman reports, anyway) that they practiced human sacrifice... So, "peaceful"? I doubt it.

There's a sort of voguish, neo-druidism around these days, but there's no evidence that this corresponds to the real thing, we have no actual written records from these people.

This is possibly the most clever post I've ever seen.

Hilarious!

Please don't encourage him: it's bad enough already. Thanks.
