Not sure about how fake it is, it wasn't invented by greeting card companies....

Quit whining, and buy stuff! It's good for the economy, and bragging rights.... ;-)

My take on V-Day is if any woman finds me more attractive on this day then I'm all for it... I'll wine and dine her, tell her my innermost feelings and even bow to the commercialism god to please her because she is worth it.

Sadly, I rarely have takers. :(

Guess we all know what that means. ;)

I got my sweetie a card and chocolate (both on sale)... I also took time and framed some photo's of our son and gave them to her. I think it is a special day, but I am not in to the commercial aspect of it. (Same with Christmas).

Maybe the trick is to make that special someone feel like that every day of the year and to bring gifts and wines on a spontaneous basis... and to hell with the commercial renditions of holidays such as those we see every year.

I haven't celebrated Christmas, Easter, Fathers' Day, Mothers' Day, Valentines Day and others since I can't remember when and no one is the worst off for it. I do tend to be spontaneous when dealing with gifts, trips, dinners and outings... and I can tell you that this approach is indeed favoured by everyone in our family.

We truly do not need a prescribed date to demonstrate our affection for each other.

Bah and humbug. Never have been a Valentine's Day fan. Those little candy hearts with writing on them? Taste like chalk and hurt your teeth. Where's the good in that??

I am with you. Hope that there will be some humor in the challenge photos.

Boycott it? I actively promote around it .... I'd be better off financially by boycotting Christmas, which is much more disgusting bastardization of a holiday, if you ask me.

Our eldest son put it so much more eloquently than I every could: "Valentine's Day is the ONLY day of the year than one can give a gift... and have it mean nothing."

well i'm glad i had nothing planned for last night, my wife spent the evening in the emergency room with my son, he's only 18 months, but he rolled his ankle and we thought it might be broke the way he was screaming.

luckily it was just a minor sprain.
