I joined a few weeks ago but didn't make a post because I wasn't sure I'd actually be participating, but now that I've successfully entered my first challenge, I feel alright introducing myself. :)
I'm currently living in Seattle, WA. I purchased my DSLR about 6(?) months ago with the intention of using it to shoot some video with my friends and some still photography on my own. (Still need to get around to the video portion.) After my initial rush of "taking pictures of everything in the house," I sort of slacked off for a while. Then I purchased a new lens with my bonus from work, so I figured I should actually start using my camera again. DPC gives me a structure to work within, which will hopefully keep me coming up with new ideas constantly.
Hoping to get lots of feedback on ways I can improve my shots!

Welcome!!! Looks like you're doing well on your first challenge! You'll have fun with this place -- just don't let the trolls get to you. I mean, really, where else can you take pictures of SPAM?

Welcome, Justin! As it happens, there is a Seattle DPC Get Together (GTG) this weekend. Pop in that thread and post if you'll be able to make it. Very informal and a great chance to meet some local DPCers. |

Welcome Justin. Participating in DPC (both regular and side challenges) really is the fastest, best way to grow as a photog. |
