I've just stumbled across this article - not sure if it's been mentioned before - but might be of some interest to a few folk.

| Thanks for sharing, wish I could get that facility. I am one of those who seems to magically change the dial more often than not! |

| Wow I wonder when I send mine in for regular cleaning if they can do it quickly or if it's a long turn around. I HATE that dial on my 7D. It seems the wind can blow and turn it on me. I'm glad my 1D isn't like that I'd toss it from the car! |

Bump - I'm sure there must be more than two people that would benefit from this . .

I expect that would be an alternative solution for the 7D... Note that if you do decide upon this course of action, please do feel free to drive by here while you throw it out. :)
One of your unused white lenses would also be a welcome piece of refuse. ;) |

| I've never had this problem, although I feel that the little joystick button on my 5D2 really needs to be mashed to activate the central button. Does anybody else think this or did I just get a bum switch? |

I think you might have. Mine feels "right" (it actuates like you would expect it to), as does the one that I've used as a backup. :( |

Haven't notices this problem with my 7d.
I have mine in a backpack so when I put it in it isn't touching this dial.
Maybe that's why I don't find a problem with it. |

| Not more than an hour after I posted this, I went on an assignment to cover a Martin Luther King Jr. March for the paper. I was carrying my 7D with 16-35 on my Black Rapid strap. Three times in the 1.5 mile mark the camera got moved from AV to M mode! I am sending the camera in as soon as CPS can get to it. |
