There are a lot of books out there that have been helpful to me. A quick search at amazon.com resulted in several PS titles specifically for photographers:

Gagan,
The list is endless. My limited knowledge of ps is by searching the net and sites like this.A good start would be google and just search for photoshop tutorials, there are hundreds to choose from. Also the help files in ps are excellent, another option is buying the photoshop bible which is very good.
If you need help with a particular situation I am sure there are plenty here who can help but you would have to be more specific,
hope this clarifies it a little,
Paul. |

I agree, except that's the old version - there is a newer one out now for CS. It isn't supposed to be much better than the original (i.e., not worth buying twice!) but it is a good collection of all of the standard tips and tricks you'll find around the web.

try ALT-L - for levels. move the outside pointers to the edges of the dark (histogram). play around a bit here.
then try FILTERS>SHARPEN>USM - try settings of 200 to 300%, .2 to .5, and a threshold of 0 to 10
These two tips will improve your photos a lot.
also, see //www.mmcphoto.com/ and downoad Shudder's Digital Darkroom Action. Will improve almost any pic 100%.
